The Canoe Sprint International Panel have today released the following statement ahead of the July regatta and selection event, set to be held at the National Water Sports Centre this weekend.
A mitigating circumstances request ahead of the July National Championships regatta has been received from the Deborah Kerr/Emma Russell crew in the K2W 500m Senior selection event.
The IP has reviewed this information and has accepted these mitigating circumstances in line with 7.3 of the selection policy.
It has been determined that a race-off will be arranged between the winners in the K2W 500m at this weekend’s senior World Championship selection event and Kerr/Russell to determine which K2W 500m crew will be selected to race at the 2021 World Championships.
The winners of the selection race will be consulted for the dates of the race-off and further information will be provided by the IP post selection.
