Fladbury – Regional Paddlesport Regatta
Fladbury Paddle Club are pleased to invite paddlers of C1, K1, Paddleboards (Stand Up and Prone) to take part in their regatta on Saturday 15th September.
Distance racing will take place in the morning, with an option for paddlers to also take part in the Fladbury Fun Run at 13.30, 200m sprints will take place in the afternoon. The racing will finish with a Bell Boat 200m challenge (crews of 6, entries on the day). During the afternoon paddlers and supporters can also visit Fladbury Village Fete.
Classes for canoe/kayak will be based on sprint bandings, with Lightning/Mini K1. SUP will be 3 classes, Inflatable 12’6 and under, Hard Board 12’6 and under, Hard Board 14’. Prone Boards 1 class. Prizes for Senior, Junior, Male and Female in all races. Special prize for paddlers also entering fun run.

Flatwater Racing Skills Day at Roadford Lake, Devon
British Canoeing will be running a racing skills day on Saturday 18 August 2018 at Roadford Lake, Devon.

The Racing Skills Programme is established to encourage those athletes who love to paddle, whether it be in Sprint, Marathon, WWR, Paddle Ski etc, and who would like to develop their skills in different environments whilst meeting different paddlers and coaches to learn from each other.
Racing skills look to bring coaches, athletes and parents together to share knowledge and to allow those to be better informed to aid the growth of the young paddler in a fun and inventive way. This day will mostly be aimed at athletes aged 12-18 years old.
The Theme of the day: The Model Athlete
The factors with a beneficial effect to performance development. We aim to cover:
- Mental
- Tactical
- Technical
- Commitment
- Lifestyle
- Physical
- Balance of training with school work
There were be 2x on water sessions, workshops and an open Q&A sessions for parents and coaches.
Attending this 2-hour workshop for coaches will give you an 18-month update to your CPD.

There will be a 45-min presentation once the athletes have started their 1st Session.

Racing Skills Day at Southampton cancelled
British Canoeing have issued the following statement concerning the cancellation of the Racing Skills Day at Southampton Canoe Club:
“It is with regret that the Racing Skills Day scheduled to take place at Southampton Canoe Club on Saturday 28th July has been cancelled, this is due to limited uptake as a result of the school holidays.
The next Racing Skills Day is scheduled to take place at Roadford Lake, Devon on Saturday 18 August 2018, information will be sent out by Tuesday 24 July.
We look forward to seeing you all at future Racing Skills Days.”

Warwick Sprint Event – Saturday 7th October 2017
Warwick Sprint Event – Entry Form
The Warwick Sprint Event is being held on Saturday 7th October 2017 and you can enter by using this Google Form:The day will consist of 200m heats, semi’s, finals – everyone racing will make it through to a final, meaning everyone will race 3 times. Craft thermals will be awarded to the winner of each categorised group.
There will also be the Warwick Knockout Races. Athletes will be grouped according to category. The knockout brings excitement and skill into a fast paced event. There will be a knockout event for each Sprint Group. Each Sprint Group will have 14 to 25 paddlers (based on numbers from 2016 entries). Over a series of back-to-back sprints the group will be whittled down to 5 paddlers for the final sprint-off.
