Following the government announcement at the end of last week, events in England can begin to take place as from 1st August.

2020/21 TASS Application Window Opens
The England Talent Programme has been awarded 20 TASS places for 2020/21. This is a combined total for Olympic disciplines across Slalom and Sprint.
All application to be submitted by 17.00 on the 24th July

Communication from BC Board on international competition in 2020
The British Canoeing Board issued a statement on 2nd July 2020 announcing the decision not to send GB teams to any international competitions for the remainder of 2020. The statement gives reasons for the decision. The full statement can be seen by clicking the link below.
Holme Pierrepoint regatta dates announced for 2021
The following dates have been announced for weekend regattas at Holme Pierrepoint next year, 2021. At this point it is only the dates that have been decided. Work is ongoing to devise the programme for each regatta.

Please note that there is still the possibility of a regatta in September 2020. Information about any such regatta will be issued as soon as it becomes available.

GB Canoe Sprint – Situational Analysis
In November 2019, British Canoeing and UK Sport jointly commissioned a panel of independent experts to deliver a ‘Situational Analysis’ of Canoe Sprint in Great Britain. The panel was asked to investigate the factors contributing to the underperformance of the British Canoeing Sprint World Class Programme against World‐level medal aspirations, and to consider the potential for Canoe Sprint to be competitive across multiple events, and to win more than 1 or 2 Olympic medals per cycle in the future.

Sprint Performance Strategy update – June 2020
the first progress report on the British Canoeing Sprint Performance Strategy has been released. The update outlines the steps that have been taken, and the outcomes from the early stages of the Performance Strategy work.
